Just because the price of gas is going up, it doesn’t mean that you have to let it get you down. You can stretch those camping dollars with a one tank trip and We Camp Here will help you do it! Here’s how:
Point your browser to the We Camp Here Interactive Campground Search page. In the lower left part of the page you will find the ‘One Tank Trip Calculator’. Simply enter a ‘Starting Location’, your gas ‘Tank Size’ and the gas ‘Mileage’ you get with your vehicle. To stretch those dollars as far as possible, the default calculation is for one tank of gas for a round trip. If you want to expand your search area to two tanks (one for the trip there and one for the trip home), then remove the check from the ‘Calculate for Round Trip’ check box. If you want to remember these settings each time you come back to the page, check the ‘Remember These Settings’ check box.
Once you have entered information into all of the fields, click the ‘Calculate’ button. The search map will automatically be centered on the location you chose, and a circle will be drawn on the map that roughly indicates the distance you can travel on a One Tank Trip.
The circle will remain as you zoom in and out and navigate around the map. If you chose to save the settings by checking the ‘Remember These Settings’ checkbox the circle will remain there as you move back and forth between the campground details and the map. To remove the One Trip radius, simply uncheck the box or clear your browser cookies and it will no longer be there after you leave the page.
